Dr Jim Nicklin

Dr Nicklin is a gynaecological oncologist who works both in private practice, based at the Wesley Hospital and in public practice at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.  He was did his basic obstetrics and gynaecology training in Queensland and did his training in gynaecological oncology in Sydney and Ohio, USA.

Dr Andrea Garrett

Dr Andrea Garrett is a Gynaecologic Oncologist working at The Wesley Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She trained in Melbourne and Perth before returning to Brisbane. She manages women with gynaecologic cancers, pre-invasive disease and hereditary conditions. She has a special interest in the management of women with Gestational Trophoblastic Disease.

Dr Naven Chetty

Dr Naven Chetty is a consultant gynaecological oncologist and gynaecologist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

He has completed fellowships in Gynaecological Oncology and Laparoscopic Gynaecology. Over the last few years he has completed his Robotic training, and is a proctor for the Di Vinci Robot system.

Dr Chetty is a member of the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Oncology (QCGC) and a staff specialist at Mater Adult Hospital. In addition he is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and involved in student teaching and research via QCGC and Mater Research.

Dr Russell Land

Associate Professor Russell Land is a gynaecological oncologist working both privately at Greenslopes Hospital and publicly at the Royal Brisbane Hospital . His passion is minimally invasive surgery and getting patients back to normal faster both laparoscopically and and robotically . Russell is a Queensland Local trained in London , Perth , Sydney and Brisbane and enjoys constantly looking to improve surgical techniques .

Ms Carmel Leader

Carmel Leader is a former teacher and was a director of a family owned construction company which built roads and bridges throughout South East Queensland.  She had a brush with a condition called gestational trophoblastic disease in 1996 and has been an invaluable benefactor and advocate of women with gynaecological cancer ever since.

Ms Mary Sparksman

Mary is the founding director of YRD Event Management which was established in 1995. Mary’s career in the Hospitality and Event Management Industry began over 35 years ago when she started her career as a Trainee Hotel Manager.

YRD specialises in the Management of Medical Associations and Conference Management and Mary is honoured to have been invited to be an Honorary Board member of GC Red.

Mary is also a member of a number of Hotel/Industry Advisory Boards and regularly consults to the industry on all matters relating to Management and Events. She loves the industry and works with a young passionate team of dedicated event managers.
